Florida Broker License Renewal: Complete Guide
May 4, 2026
Florida real estate broker licenses renew on a two-year cycle tied to the licensee birth month. The Florida Real Estate Commission requires 14 hours of continuing education per renewal period, including 3 hours of Core Law and 3 hours of Ethics and Business Practices. The remaining 8 hours can come from any FREC-approved elective category.
Renewal happens through the DBPR Online Services portal. Log in using your license number and PIN, complete any outstanding CE requirements, verify your contact information, and pay the renewal fee. FREC typically issues the renewed license electronically within a few business days of a complete submission.
Brokers running a brokerage are also responsible for ensuring their registered office address and qualifying broker designation are current in DBPR. An outdated registered address can trigger compliance issues even if your individual license is current. Review both records at each renewal cycle.
